Nematodes are microscopic worms that live in the soil feeding on plant roots. Their activity can significantly reduce crop yield in fruit trees, vegetables and vines and in some cases completely destroying crops. Mites, such as spider mites, are classified as acarids but damage crops in the same way as insects. النيماتودا أو السلكيّات هي ديدان مجهرية الحجم تعيش في التربة وتتغذى على جذور النباتات. ويمكن أن يؤدي نشاطها إلى تخفيض إنتاجية المحصول بدرجة ملحوظة بالنسبة لأشجار الفاكهة ، والخضروات والكروم ، وفي بعض الحالات القضاء تماماً على المحاصيل.
