Nematodes are microscopic worms that live in the soil feeding on plant roots. Their activity can significantly reduce crop yield in fruit trees, vegetables and vines and in some cases completely destroying crops. Mites, such as spider mites, are classified as acarids but damage crops in the same way as insects.
